BUDGET CALENDAR 

February

2nd - City Council appoints City Administrator/Recorder as Budget Officer. 

March

3rd - Department Heads receive budget forms and February (eight-month actual) financial reports.

16th - City Council works on 2006-07 goals.

28th - Parks Committee gives input on Five-Year Capital Improvement Program.

29th - Street Committee gives input on Five-Year Capital Improvement Program. 

April

5th - Department Heads estimate their expenditures for the remainder of the current year and turn in fiscal year 2006-07 budget requests to City Administrator/Recorder.

5th - Water Committee meets to give input on Five-Year Capital Improvement Program.

13th - City Administrator/Recorder prepares draft Five-Year Capital Improvement Program proposal based on input from Committees.

15th - Notice of first Budget Committee Meeting is published.

 20th - City Council adopts Five-Year Capital Improvement Program and Policy Goals and Objectives for 2006-07 fiscal year.

28th - City Administrator/Recorder reviews budget requests with Mayor and Department Heads and finalizes budget worksheets.

29th - Second notice of first Budget Committee Meeting is published. 

May

5th - Proposed 2006-07 budget is available for public inspection and distributed to the Mayor, Council, Budget Committee and staff.

10th - Budget Committee Meeting and public hearing.

12th - 25th - Budget Committee meets to review and approve budget. 

June

3rd - Budget Summary and Notice of Budget Hearing is published.

15th - Budget Hearing; Council adopts budget and levies taxes.

 July

15th - Adopted budget is submitted to the County Assessor's Office.

20th - Publish Notice of Availability of the Adopted Budget.
