Planning Department
The Planning Department is responsible for the current and long-range land use planning activities of the City. Currently the department is staffed by a Planning Commission Secretary, and the City contracts with John Rankin and Lisa Smith, independent contractors, for planning services. The Columbia City Planning Commission reviews current planning applications and long-range planning processes, and the Citizen Advisory Committee participates in long-range planning activities.
