ORDINANCE NO. 528
AN ORDINANCE PROHIBITING COMMERCIAL VEHICULAR TRAFFIC AND RESTRICTING TURNS ON "G" STREET AND ESTABLISHING A PENALTY.
WHEREAS, the Common Council of the City of Columbia City deems it necessary to adopt certain restrictions on the use of "G" Street in order to reduce damage to the street and enhance the safety, protection and general welfare of the public, NOW, THEREFORE,
THE CITY OF COLUMBIA CITY ORDAINS AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. Definitions: As used in this Ordinance, unless the context otherwise requires, words and phrases shall have those definitions as set forth in ORS Chapter 801.
Section 2. [Right Turn Prohibited:] No person shall make a right turn with any motor vehicle, from 6th Street onto "G" Street within the City of Columbia [City].
Section 3. [Left Turn Prohibited:] No person shall make a left turn with a motor vehicle from "G" Street onto 6th Street within the City of Columbia City.
Section 4. [Commercial Traffic Prohibited:] "G" Street from 6th Street to Highway 30 is hereby declared closed to commercial vehicle traffic except for the reasonable and necessary delivery of goods or services to properties within the closed area.
Section 5. Classification and Penalty: Any person violating this Ordinance is guilty of having committed a Class D traffic infraction and shall be punished as provided by Oregon Statute for violation of a Class D traffic infraction.
Section 6. [Emergency.]
Adopted by the council and approved by the mayor October 15, 1998.
